Information for Parents
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states education in the faith by the parents should begin in the child's earliest years parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God. (CCC#2226) While parents are the primary educators of a child's faith, the St. Agnes Religious Education Program supplements what the children learn at home. Our religious education program serves close to 1,100 children in grades 1 through 10.
Curriculum
Grade 1
Curriculum: Welcome to the Church
The children are asked to learn their prayers, including the Our Father, Hail Mary: and Glory Be.
Grade 2
Curriculum: First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
This is a critical year. The children prepare for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, receiving their First Reconciliation the end of November through the beginning of December. In January they begin their preparation to receive First Eucharist in May. Parents meetings are scheduled throughout the year to reinforce what their child is learning during the course of this very important sacramental year.

Confirmation
The Confirmation Program is a two-year program beginning in the ninth grade. Community service projects during both years are a required part of the program. In addition, Grade 10 students will attend a retreat and are offered the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation prior to Confirmation.
