Religious Education
Our Religious Education program here at Saint Agnes is centered on Jesus. We teach our children of His love for us. We give all our new catechists a "Good News Bible", and we ask them to pray with their class and to share their faith. We use texts published from Silver Burdette for our first and second grades. We use books published from Benzinger, Sadlier, and Silver Burdette for grades three through eight.
Family Oriented Programs
Our Grade One children and their families come to the Parish Center on Thursday afternoons. The children meet in small classes, with a teacher in each class. We learn to pray, sing songs, watch videos, make things to decorate the Religious Education office and things to take home. We also share a snack. We end the afternoon meeting together as a large group. The children are given a book to use at home with their parents. It is a wonderful opportunity for the parents to meet each other. It is a very gentle, loving way for the children to learn about Jesus' love for them. Registration for this program takes place each spring by calling the Religious Education Office.
Our Second Grade Sacramental Program is broken down into two parts: Reconciliation and the First Eucharist. Classes are conducted at the Parish Center on Saturday mornings. Teachings are also arranged for parents in the Lower Church while the children attend class.
Structured Weekly Class Program
Our program for Grades Three through Eight is taught at weekly meetings, either at our Parish Center or in the individual catechist's home. The program runs from October through April. We have class sign-up day at the Parish Center before classes start. Parents are able to decide which class is best for their child and enroll them on that day.
We have an Opening Religious Education Mass at the start of the program year. Below are the Themes that are taught at each grade level.
| Grade | Theme |
| Three | Jesus and Our Church |
| Four | The Ten Commandments |
| Five | The Seven Sacraments; The Creed |
| Six | The Old Testament |
| Seven | The New Testament |
| Eight | The History of Our Church |
